Vision: "To create a world where science and technology are celebrated...where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes" |
Team 316 is now in it's ninth year... The Salem County Robotics Team 316 began in 1999 with seven students and four mentors through a partnership with local businesses and educators. Salem County is a rural, agricultural area located in the southwest corner of New Jersey and our students come from high schools throughout the county. The students and mentors work hard to form friendships and bonds that are strong, not just on the playing field, but continue after they leave the team. As we begin our ninth year, the LuNaTeCs remain one of the smaller teams in FIRST, currently with 10 students. The small size of our team allow each team member to be an integral part of the robot design, build and strategy getting "hands on" experience. Our robot, SAM--"Salem's Awesome Machine", won the Philadelphia Regional in 2001 and 2005; and the Sportmanship Award in 2004. In 2002 we won the NASA Langley Regional Sportmanship Award. The team has also won many off season competions to be aptly nicknamed a "Small And Mighty force".
Calling all Team 316 Alumni! We are developing an Alumni page... please help us by submitting your name, year(s) on team and current location/occupation with a picture to the Webmaster.
