First Overdrive!

Welcome to Team 316's web page for the 2008 FIRST Robotics Competition!

This year's build season began on January 5, 2008 when mentors and team members gathered for the much anticipated FIRST robotics challenge called Overdrive.  We all watched a video simulcast and read a manual that described the new game and game rules.  One of our mentors picked up our kit of parts and from there we began to strategize and design our robot called "SAM"--thus, our six week intensive build season was kicked off.  During this six week build season we have all hands on deck until the robot ships on February 19, 2008.  We do not see the robot again until our first competition in Rochester, New York.  

The First Overdrive Game

FIRST Overdrive is a game played on the TRACK Two
ALLIANCES, one red and one blue, composed of three teams each, compete in each MATCH. The object of the game is to attain a higher score than your opponent by making counter-clockwise laps
with your robot around the TRACK while moving large TRACKBALLS over and/or under the OVERPASS that bisects the TRACK.
